YOUR BENGAL'S HEALTH IS OUR PRIORITY
RESPONSIBLE BREEDING
Irresponsible and unethical breeding can lead to health complications in bengals; like many pedigree cats they can be prone to certain diseases.
These diseases are genetically inherited, so the risk of them can be greatly reduced by only breeding healthy bengals. We are able to trace the lineage of our bengals back 5 places (in some cases more) and you can see the family tree of any of our bengals.
All of our bengals undergo yearly HCM screening and have received DNA testing for other conditions. You will be given proof of these results should you wish to add one of our bengals to your family. It is only once a bengal has a clear set of results that we will use them in our breeding program.
DIET
Diet is incredibly important to your new bengal. Bengals (even more so than many other cats) need a diet with very high meat content. Carb content should be as low as possible, protein as high as possible. Unfortunately, most commercial cat food contains a much higher percentage of carbs and much lower protein content than required, with some offering as low as 4% meat.
At TLC Bengals, we only feed three types of food to our bengals: Raw cat food, Katkin (100% human-grade meat) or Thrive (very high meat content with zero additives). We will provide you with a free trial of this food when you collect your new kitten.
WELLBEING
All breeding takes place at home. Our bengals live with us 24/7. They get plenty of love, attention and playtime. Your new kitten will come to you fully socialised with humans and pets.
Your new bengal will also be fully litter trained, harness trained, neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and de-flead, microchipped and had a full health check from the vets, with proof of all of these. You will also receive guidance on health checks and treatment to give your new kitten.
